It is all about the Pollinators at the Salisbury Zoo on June 24th!
Come join the Salisbury Zoo and Lower Eastern Shore Beekeepers Association celebrate Pollinator week on Saturday, June 24, 9am to noon at the Salisbury Zoo! Local Bee Keepers and Master Gardener's will on hand with information about beekeeping and about pollinators. They will also have a live bee hive on display. Children and adults can make their very own pollinator seed bombs as well as other arts and craft activities!
Intro to Beekeeping Course offered after the Pollinator Day Celebration at 2pm-4pm. Want to learn about Beekeeping? You can at the Salisbury Zoo! Certified Master Beekeeper, Dean Burroughs will be teaching an introduction to Beekeeping class on June 24th from 2pm-4pm in the Zoo’s Red Wolf building next to their observation bee hive.
Dean, a third generation beekeeper, and Maryland State Apiary Inspector (MD Department of Agriculture) is a commercial beekeeper who manages 230 beehives. He is also the past president of the Maryland State Beekeepers Association and founder & past president of the Lower E. Shore Beekeepers Club.
